Terms & Conditions of Sale
These terms apply to all orders placed with The Bifold Outlet via thebifoldoutlet.com.
1. Bespoke goods & cancellation
All products are manufactured to the customer's specification and dimensions. Under Regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised are exempt from the statutory 14-day cancellation period.
You may cancel without charge until your order has been entered into manufacture. Once manufacture has begun, the order cannot be cancelled and the deposit is non-refundable.
2. Payment
Orders are accepted on payment of either the full order value (100%) or a 50% deposit. Prices include VAT at the prevailing rate.
Where a deposit is paid, the remaining 50% balance must be paid in full prior to dispatch. Goods will not be released for delivery until cleared funds are received.
Bespoke RAL colours and items marked 'priced on request' are confirmed in writing before any payment is taken.
3. Dimensions & specification
The customer is solely responsible for the accuracy of all dimensions, opening configurations, colours and specifications entered in the configurator. Please follow our measuring guide and deduct 10–15mm fitting tolerance from brick-to-brick measurements.
We accept no liability for goods that do not fit due to incorrect dimensions supplied by the customer. Remakes are chargeable.
Elevation drawings are viewed from outside unless stated. Please check opening direction and handing carefully before ordering.
4. Delivery
Delivery is kerbside only. The customer must provide sufficient able-bodied persons to offload goods safely; drivers are not permitted to carry goods into the property.
Goods must be inspected on delivery. Visible damage or shortages must be noted on the delivery note and reported within 48 hours. Claims not noted at delivery may be declined.
Lead times are estimates and do not form part of the contract. We are not liable for losses arising from delayed delivery.
5. Warranty
Aluminium and UPVC profiles carry a 10-year guarantee against manufacturing defects, including powder coating against flaking and blistering under normal conditions.
Sealed glass units and hardware (locks, hinges, handles, rollers) carry a 5-year guarantee.
Warranties are conditional on the products being installed by a competent installer in accordance with manufacturer guidance and maintained as recommended. Damage from misuse, building movement, incorrect installation or coastal environments without suitable maintenance is excluded.
6. Building regulations
It is the customer's responsibility to ensure installation complies with Building Regulations (including Approved Documents L, F, K and Q) and that the work is notified via a competent person scheme or local building control.
7. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law. Your statutory rights in respect of faulty goods are not affected.
